Seen on Ars Technica: Chrome antics: did Google reverse-engineer Windows?. This is an other reason for using software where the complete source is available to you. It is incredible that something which is rather straight forward from a technical point of view should create such legal problems.
Via the GSD blog: Flash Player 10: Dazzling Effects, Better Performance, Runs on Linux and Benchmarking Flash Player 10. It is interesting to see how focus shifts from one aspect to an other in the web world (the current focus being speed with V8 from Google, TraceMonkey from Mozilla and Flash 10). Also, I've just browsed to Talisker Computer Network Defense Operational Picture and its very nice how fast Java got loaded (as opposed to the 1min+ waiting time you would have seen couple of years ago).
