pgAdmin 1.9 will have some nice new features. The query designer will probably save a few keystrokes when working with star schemas.
The MySQL Performance Blog explains the different meanings of COUNT. Very nice. I usually use COUNT(1) or COUNT(*), but it is very useful to know about other possibilities.

PostgreSQL 8.4 is getting WITH queries. It looks very promising (increases readability and performance at the same time).
